aka: Black Sails in the Sunset. I love naming my projects. I feel that it gives them a personality. I tend to borrow a lyric, or in this case a band name (and an album name), but the design always comes first...I also have a really bad habit of including the name like a title. This has nothing to do with the band Bring Me The Horizon. It almost looks like the cover of a romance novel.
Thanks to http://mjranum-stock.deviantart.com/ for the model. He has a lot of great images and I look forward to working with more of his stock in the future.

A picture is worth a thousand words. What is a picture made of a thousand words worth?
I respect the work of tattoo artists and would love to learn to tattoo one day. Until then, I will stick to adding ink digitally.
When I was asked to put together a calendar for S*ALT Presents at the Wonderbar I knew I wanted to do something that would stand out. I came up with the idea, but quickly learned that its hard to find a model who isn't tattooed these days. After persuading my friend Stephie to let me take pictures of her naked back I went to work removing her tattoos and adding my own.
It started snowing sometime last night. Many hours and almost 18 inches later it hasn't let up. I'm currently snowed in and using the opportunity to recreate an older piece of work, to kill time and to save my sanity.
The concept for this came from an earlier work I created years ago while in school titled Jay Guevara, where I took the iconic image of Che Guevara and replaced his face with mine. Of all the unique and complex digital art I've created that one still receives the most feedback.
I guess sometimes less really is more.
For this design I wanted to build on the original and give it an updated feel. I traded Che's signature beret for a street tag look, something more my style. From Marxist revolutionary to artistic revolutionary.

Imagine Nation
[i-maj-uh-ney-shuhn]
noun
1. A state perceived outside the realm of reality.
2. The union of independent thought and creative expression.
3. A landscape of images, concepts, illustrative and decorative imagery.
The Imagine Nation is where emotion meets creation.
I draw inspiration from the world around me and bring my visions to life on a digital canvas. Enjoy the ride.
