Description: Due to unfortunate circumstances, I was Philly-bound today with my wonderful mother and her supportive partner, Charles. After taking care of business in Center City, Charlie drove us through the back roads of South Philly, dressing our ears with stories of his glory days. Years ago, he and his buddy would wake before the sun and head west to dig 10-45' holes in hopes of finding precious bottles discarded by perished drunks.
Those same streets are still beautifully abandoned. Some areas were "cleaned up" to rent - but a lot still remain as broken skeletons of the 1800's. I will return soon to conquer much more of this city. I dig!

Description: Stuck in a mood and a place where the timing seems right to vent about a shitty week; however, I will keep it to the description of this photo. I arrived here several days ago, when trees were silhouettes and sound did not exist. This shot was taken at approximately 6:45 in the morning several days ago, down a weathered road. That morning, life laid smothered by a soft foggy glow that muted noise. Reeds didn't blow, water didn't ripple, clouds appeared 'stuck'.
Three shots at three exposures as the sun rises east - smushed together by the powers of technology. I present you with the exact image of my morning, alone and quiet, in The Sticks.

Description: Taken with my sexy Canon 7D and a borrowed Canon 100-400mm L lens, courtesy of the rental department at The Photo Center [Brick].
I've been closely monitoring the cranberry bog here in Lacey. I'm excited to see the waters takeover what I've grown to love as the deep red fields of un-walkable terrain. With many visits under my belt already, there was no need to shoot the bogs... so I took a walk in the woods. Look what I found :).
So pretty with this lens; the dark, soft background in contrast with the brightly colored, sharp thorns..... makes me smile.

Description: It's been a while. Life travels fast and in many directions. Nothing is ever what it seems... or is it?
I am starting to test the waters in what is known as High Dynamic Range (HDR) Photography. It is a mixture of the same shot/photo, taken at multiple exposures. Just throw it in the blender, mix it up, and WHAMMY!
It's a sexy new approach to photography. I'm excited to swim around in this for a bit.

Description: Inbetween sets last night, I got to escape JR's and take a little stroll. While sitting on a bench preparing my camera, a guy asked me how much my camera cost. He proceeded to ask how much a good "closeup" lens would cost. He laughed at my response. He then told me I should take some pictures of Snookie to sell and make "tons of money". (I wouldn't know her if I fell on her.)
So I left Mr. Ignorant and walked down to the rides.

Description: I purchased my first "real" lens yesterday... hense the inspiration to shoot again. This was taken with my beautiful 7D - new lens is Sigma's 10mm f/2.8 Fisheye. I am still being questioned at work; why I chose to spend my money on such a specialty lens when there are other, more "practical" lenses that should be established first. Look at this! Guess I'm a fool for distortion. A fool for creating an image that makes ME happy. Maybe that's the "artist" in me?

Description: On a mission to put together an assortment of delightful photos for Shore Alternative's "Picture Show", I bought this bag of disturbing, horribly-made toys at a pharmacy for $5.00. I borrowed an obsurdly bright light from a friend. I placed the toys one by one on a piece of super glossy paper. I shot.
You can view three from this session at Gallery 13 on Cookman in Asbury Park. (Highly recommend the visit! They put together a nice show!)
